| Note | An extremely large and exceptional specimen, exhibiting beautiful colour and pattern. Rare level of overall perfection: apertural shield, siphonal canal, protoconch, etc. For the Cassidae specialist. Note: The correct name for this form is AGNITUM. The usually encountered ?magnitum / magnita?, (perpetuated everywhere throughout the internet literature), is erroneous. Iredale described agnitum as a full species, although it is now commonly applied to a form of areola. However, Iredale?s original description states that the species is small, and uniformly ?white?, further mentioning that it ?lacks the colour scheme of exarata?, (a Reeve species with typical brown squares). Thus, the name 'agnitum' may be misapplied to the current species.
