| Note | A most unusual specimen of Amoria exoptanda. As no commercial shell divers now operate in the South Australian fishery, species like Amoria exoptanda are scarsely taken. Hence this is a rare offering today. The specimen is a most unusual specimen with a compressed spire. It is actually missing a major second body swirl, making the spire COMPRESSED and STUNTED. It is interesting to comare this specimen with the other specimen I have available in this auction. A most dramatic difference in the spire length. Graded GEM in condition with only the normal, natural growth steps near the lip which this species always have. Diver collected in 20M to 30M at night, on sand near rocks, Port Lincoln, South Australia. |
