Item | # 0001936108 | Family | Cypraeidae | Name | Zoila friendii marina - RARE OFFERING. , (Lorenz, 2009) |
Size | 87.7 mm |
Locality | Geraldton, Central W. Australia. |
Note | I consider this quite a RARE OFFERING, a Zoila friendii marina. This specimen has all the characteristics that differentiate it, the strong dentation on both sides of the aperture, the very low side profiles and the widest point of the shell being mid ship. Graded FINE++ with no chips, but a few soft growth lines and wobbles over the dorsum. None that are very harsh and for such a RARE subspecies it is a worthwhile great representative. Diver collected in 41m. in cup sponge in limestone rock and rubble, Geraldton, Central Western Australia. |
