Item | # 0001936133 | Family | Cypraeidae | Name | Zoila eludens delicatura - ONE OF THE RARE ZOILA. , (Chandler & Du Ross, 1997) |
Size | 48.9 mm |
Locality | Peak Island, Exmouth Gulf. |
Note | On offer is one of the most RARE forms of Zoila found today, the Zoila eludens delicatura. Diver collected in 35M off Peak Island, N.W. Australia. This isolated location being in the N.W. of the state and many miles to sea, makes any dive venture most difficult and expensive. On top of this weather always plays a great part in the success of any venture, hence the availability of this form is very RARE. On offer is a lovely mature specimen with great colour, high distinct cream and blue frosted margins with rich tiger spotting. The narrowing into the anterior canal, the lack of a flared base and the yellow straw coloured interior are all characteristics separating delicatura from eludens. Graded FINE++/FINE+++ with a soft growth line which is well camouflaged in its dark dorsal colour. A small silt pimple is near the anterior canal. It is a very mature and heavy specimen which presents very vey well and the above faults are only observed on close examination. A RARE opportunity not available very often. |
