| Note | This ID has been given after a comparison with the "dead collected" "yellow" type shells & 3 of my own shells I have had for 2 years. Recently it was renamed as A. monsecourorum by Thach & Huber without comparison to those type shells. If accepted as a full species, then it would be A. varians! The aperture loses its pink &/or purplish tones after death, & "yellow" shells may only have a white aperture. |
