Item | # 0001977641 | Family | Turbinellidae | Name | Tudicula armigera - RARE LEMON YELLOW , Adams, A., 1855 |
Size | 60.7 mm, w/o |
Locality | Australia |
Note | This is the only specimen of this endemic North-Eastern Australian species I have seen in which the typical colour of orangish-pink is replaced with lemon yellow, and the typical fine ochre-caramel axial streaks are absent. The result is a beautiful, ?pure? shell. Ultra-clean, with no coralline encrustation or erosion. A very special armigera. Size: 60.7 mm (length). Grading: F+++; w/o. Data: Lodestone Reef, Queensland, Australia; upon sand substrate; 20-40 m; trawled; 1986. |
