Note | EXTRA SPECIAL SALE - PART 2: Part two of my extra special sale comprised entirely of exceptional specimens from my private collection, representing highlights of my collecting and dealing career. Another opportunity to acquire outstanding and unique seashells from one of the world’s pre-eminent collections. AMORIA UNDULATA ANGASI: A superb example of the rare ‘straight’ lined form. The South Australian angasi form represents the most exquisite incarnation of this endemic south-eastern Australian species, with its pale ground and axial lines of dark caramel. Hypermature, with markedly thickened, ‘rolled’ and glossed outer apertural lip. A few minor natural irregularities at the outer apertural lip and siphonal canal, but nothing which detracts from its striking appearance. Size: 66 mm (length). Grading: F++. Data: Point Bolingbroke, Eyre Peninsula, South Australia, Australia; upon sand substrate; 8 m; dived; 1988. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
