NOTOVOLUTA KREUSLERAE: An exceptional, ultra-large specimen, exhibiting superb colour and pattern: pinkish cream ground, with large caramel-ochre maculations, and pinkish white triangular markings, with distinct rose-pink lines of late stage growth. Exceptional quality, with perfect outer apertural lip and siphonal canal. Hypermature, with thickened outer apertural lip. Now extremely difficult to obtain, especially at this size and quality, coming only from old collections. Size: 84.7 mm (length). Grading: Gem. Data: Off Taylor Island, Spencer Gulf, Yorke Peninsula, South Australia, Australia; upon sand substrate; 20-40 m; dived; 1990. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
