PECTEN NODOSUS: A large and magnificent specimen of the much coveted yellow or ‘golden’ form, from the ‘old days’ of Florida trawling. Deep yellow, with accents of burgundy, and with pink towards the umbos. All nodules undamaged, (rare for the species). The BEST of the best for this now very difficult to obtain colour form. Size: 88.7 mm (longest dimension). Grading: Gem. Data: Off Port Canaveral, Florida, USA; upon mud/sand/rubble substrate; 60-120 m; trawled; 1988.
