Magnificent pattern of dense, reddish chestnut triangular markings, formed with utter perfection across a rich cream ground, with background accents of deep pink. Now obtainable only from old collections. In a different league to the majority of specimens, and definitely for the Volutidae specialist, or connoisseur of truly exquisite seashells. Size: 114 mm (length). Grading: Gem. Data: Thorny Passage, Port Lincoln, Eyre Peninsula, South Australia, Australia; upon coarse sand/rubble substrate, at night; 20 m; dived; 1992.
