Note | If you only saw this in a dorsal view you' think it was a piece of coral debris. But, when you turn it over you can see a shell buried in a very heavy coral coating. It is impossible to determine just how large this shell really is, but from the length of the aperture compared to other specimens we've had, this is a big shell. I would tend not to attempt to clean this shell because it is such a great example of molluscan camouflage. |
