Another opportunity to acquire outstanding and unique seashells from one of the world’s pre-eminent collections. ZOILA VENUSTA: Four truly outstanding, high-value venusta are offered in this sale, each representing a different rare colour form. Specimen 4: Unquestionably one of the BEST specimens I have ever seen of this classic, rare and supremely beautiful colour form. Numerous, confluent reddish chestnut dorsal maculae, across a rich cream-pink ground. The labral margin possesses a beauty which cannot be adequately described: expansive areas of creamy chocolate at the terminals; dusky cinnamon in between; and with a striking distinct blue register traversing the entire length of the margin - all to astonishingly beautiful aesthetic effect. There is one tiny area of loss to the columellar side of the anterior terminal - only discernible upon close examination - otherwise, perfection. Hypermature, with pronounced ventral callosity. Meticulously curated, with the appearance of having been collected this year. A rare opportunity to set your own price for an exceptional high-value venusta. Size: 75.2 mm (length).
