Family | Volutidae |
Name | Amoria damonii reevei - RARE DEEPWATER SPECIMEN. , (Gray, J.E., 1864) |
Size | 80.5 mm |
Locality | Off South Passage, Shark Bay. |
Note | Today, Amoria damoni reevei are particularly rare. The reason is that all the Western Australia Trawl Fisheries are geographically well defined locations and little trawling is done outside of these locations, hence a number for earlier species taken in the 1960's to 1980's are not prevalent today. On offer is a beautiful high quality specimen taken in this period with distinct shape and pattern of this subspecie. Graded GEM- with only a few internal silt pimples.
Trawled in 60 to 100M, off South Passage, Shark Bay, N.W. Australia.
