Note | An outstanding, live-collected, WHITE specimen of the South Australian form of this much coveted southern Australian species, exhibiting characteristic solidity and reduced spines. Uniform pure white, with a lemonish tinge at the sutures. Hypermature, with thickened, recurved and highly glossed outer apertural lip. Always with erosion at apex. Size: 83.8 mm (length). Grading: F+++. Data: Thorny Passage, Port Lincoln, Eyre Peninsula, South Australia, Australia; upon granite reef substrate, amongst coarse sand/gravel; 6-10 m; dived; 1995. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
