Note | Two giant specimens of Acrosterigma cygnorum the ‘oblique cockle’ from Southern Port Phillip Bay, Victoria, Australia. At 61.0 & 62.2mm (both graded F+++) these are giants. Pictured with a standard size 51.5mm Gem- uncommon pink specimen (also included in the lot).
Rather than collect living specimens we collect fresh dead specimens on our regular night dives in this area (Full data supplied with specimen). For the specialist Cardiidae – Trachycardiinae collector. these are amongst the biggest Ive ever collected. Anything >60mm is large for the species.
