Note | A superb large specimen of the rare bicincta form of this endemic southern Australian species, in which the two spiral bands are particularly prominent and well-formed. The specimen has the additional attribute of a 'sun ray' pattern to the columella. Hypermature; ultra-solid; surprising weight to size ratio. PERFECT outer apertural lip and siphonal canal. Now only obtainable from choice old collections. Size: 115.7 mm (length). Grading: F++++. Data: Thorny Passage, off Taylor Island, Spencer Gulf, Eyre Peninsula, South Australia, Australia; upon white sand substrate, at night; 22 m; dived; 1996. |
