Size | 49.4 mm, w/o |
Locality | Australia |
Note | The LAST outstanding ultra-large specimen of this rare, little known colour form, from my private collection. Known only from this uncommon locality, I consider this the most beautiful of all colour forms of this highly variable southern Australian species. An indescribable admixture of cream, caramel, pinkish cinnamon, chocolate accents, and, most distinctive of all, a broad central spiral band of pinkish lavender. Rich yellow-cream apertural interior. A mitraeformis for the connoisseur. Size: 49.4 mm (length). Grading: Gem. Data: Kemp Bay, Yorke Peninsula, South Australia, Australia; upon sand substrate, amongst seagrass; 15 m; dived; 2006. Provenance: JES private collection; Melbourne/London. |
