Name | Cardiidae acrosterigma cygnorum - Rare Yellow Form , Deshayes, 1855 |
Size | 48 mm |
Locality | Weeroona Bay, Portsea, Victoria |
Note | On offer here is a stunning rare yellow specimen of Acrosterigma cygnorum the ‘oblique cockle’. The yellow form is rare, perhaps 1 in 50 we see is yellow. A beautiful pale lemon yellow specimen in essentially GEM condition.Collected in sand with sparse rubble @15-18m at night. A more standard coloured 44mm specimen is included as a bonus. This is also in lovely Gem condition and has nice markings for this species. Would make a nice pair for a Cardiidae collector or collector of Southern Australian bivalves. |
