Note | The LARGEST punctata of the JES Collection, this truly magnificent specimen exhibits a markedly ovate form, greatly enhancing its appearance of size. PERFECTION. Fully mature outer apertural lip. Exquisite colours: delicate apricot, pink, and orange, decorated with multitudinous pointillistic flecks of pale caramel, and sporadic maculations of yellowish ochre. Unavailable now for over two deacades, and no longer collected. A 'best of the best' punctata for the collector of the world's rarest and most exquisite seashells. Size: 40.1 mm (length). Grading: Gem. Data: Thorny Passage, off Taylor Island, Spencer Gulf, Eyre Peninsula, South Australia, Australia; upon white sand substrate, amongst Pinna bed, at night; 21 m; dived; 1990.
