| Note | One of the FINEST specimens yet collected of this VERY RARE, seldom offered, extreme deep-water species. Vastly superior quality to most other examples, which typically incur substantial trawl damage upon account of the ultra-delicate shell. Beautiful subtle colour. Multitudinous fine spines at sutures. Retention of ultra-delicate original operculum, not usually retained in most specimens. Family: Calliostomatidae. Data: Arafura Sea, off Darwin, Greater Darwin Region, Northern Territory, Australia; upon sand/mud substrate; 400-500 m; trawled; 2004. Size: 32 mm. Grading: Fine++; w/o.
