| Note | The Cypraeidae specialist will be aware that examples from the Philippines, although numerous, do not readily form an outstanding dorsal pattern, with the truly exceptional occurring at a rate of perhaps one in every hundred. The mantle line is typically wayward, and the shell itself often exhibits minor, to substantial flaws. The current magnificent specimen is an exception, being of the finest possible quality, exhibiting a dorsal pattern of high aesthetic merit, and a spectacular labral margin, incorporating a distinct bluish register. Data: Off Mati, Province of Davao Oriental, Davao, Mindanao, Philippines; upon coarse coral sand/rubble substrate, near coral reef; 10-30 m; dived; August 2010. Size: 78.6 mm. Grading: Gem.
