| Note | A very rare LIVE-COLLECTED specimen of this seldom offered, diminutive, endemic South African species. Of historical significance, this specimen was collected by lobster trap in 1968, with the species now being almost never freshly collected, and obtainable only from choice old collections. Retention of delicate original operculum, also of import for the specialist. The specimen has been maintained in its completely natural state, providing important habitat information for the Muricidae specialist / researcher, although it could be cleaned if desired. Data: Off East London, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa; upon reef substrate, amongst rocks and sponges; 80-100 m; lobster trap; 1968. Size: 12.3 mm. Grading: Gem; w/o.
