| Note | A magnificent GIANT specimen from the ‘old days’ of Florida availability, and the BEST specimen of the JES Collection. In addition to its enormous size, it is also an exceedingly beautiful example, with numerous ochre-caramel flecks across a rich cinnamon-cream ground, and with an expansive area of rich ochre-caramel upon the posterior side, graduating into dusky lavender towards escutcheon and valve edges. Rare PERFECTION for such advanced size and age, with none of the oft-seen growth disruptions and irregularities which detract from even many typically sized examples. A BEST of the best giant for the bivalve specialist, or collector of giant sized shells. Size: 110.7 mm (longest dimension). Grading: Gem.
