| Note | MONSTROUS CALLOSITY.....A fabulous huge gem from a rare location. Patterned with dark overhangs projecting lavishly toward mid-dorsum, a feature unique to this specie. The pièce de résistance the monstrous callosity. Hyper-mature. Extreme weight to size ratio, like an ingot. Last of my ventriculus from this rare location, largest, and in ultimate condition (these are typically afflicted by ugly growth-lines). The 4 images explain away a 200 euro start. Reflections unavoidable. Grade: Gem. Provenance: from my own collection. By diver; 10m; Niku Hiva, largest of the Marquesas Islands in French Polynesia. |
