| Note | In the Augusta area we find two forms of andreyi with distinctly different basal coloration. The first having a apricot orange base and the other with porcelain white aperture trim and base. I am of the opinion that this is the result of mixing of a south coast population (clarksoni) with a west coast population (andreyi as described) with a porcelain white base. This shell was ROV collected from 235 metres of water south of Augusta. It has a growth irregularity on its labial side as indicated by the green arrow. It is very heavy and mature. Fine++. |
