| Note | In deep water off the south coast we find venusta that are very different from their shallow water counterparts. We refer to them as deep water south coast venusta given they do not have a form name. This shell was found in July 2022 crawling on sand among sponges in 98 metres of water south of Twin Rocks off Esperance. It is heavy and has more pronounced siphons than specimens dive collected in shallow water around the Esperance Islands. Heavy pinkish beige unspotted shell with prominent siphons. As can be seen in the photos the shell has some algae dorsal nacre discoloration. |
