| Note | Colus aurariae Fraussen, Rosado, Afonso & Monteiro, 2009. EXTRAORDINARY museistic piece. Very few specimens of this species have reached the surface. This specimen exuberates an extremely good quality for this genus, often with defects specially on the lip. This specimen shows a perfect lip and apex, still with some well preserved periostracum on, and a very good size. A one chance piece that I am letting go from my personal collection. Trawled alive at -1300 m deep by fishermen from Burela, Galicia, Spain, in Avilés area. |
