| Note | One very nice specimen of the very rare mytilid Modiolus aurum Osorio, 1979. This species was described more than forty years ago from a single lot collected at the Robinson Crusoe Island, in the Juan Fernandez Archipelago off central Chile. This is a very remote island, only reachable by boat and small planes. There are just a few specimens of this species in local museums and it has not been offered for sale before. There are no subsequent records of this species in the literature since its description. This is an opportunity to obtain the rarest mytilid found in the southeastern Pacific. |
