Note | This shell is from type location live collected by diver at 42 meters in May 1997. Perfect fully adult shell with well developed serrated margin - characteristic of this the rarest representative of Z. marginata group. Shell has perfect terminals, no growth lines, no sand grains or blisters. Very rich color and fantastic coloration on the base. Gem. This shell came from top US collection with original label with name of diver listed. No new specimens of Z. marginata superba were coming from this location for over 25 years. This population is , possibly, extinct. Only shells from old collections are rarely available. |
