| Note | Another truly beautiful and uniquely RARE specimen, this time of ketyana hypermarginata. Rare because of its rostrate, elongate shape, as a typical specimen is much more ovate. Secondly, it is unique because of the base colour stripes extending onto the base edges and margins. An extremely heavy specimen for its size, a wonderful low dorsal profile and an amazing convex base lifting the shells base edge off the table. The dorsum exhibits fine peppered dorsal spotting. Truly a specimen that presents wonderfully well and cannot be dismissed as normal, as it is far from a normal specimen. Understandably I have used the extra images that shellauction offer to convey the features as best as I can and of course with these extra images comes the requested E200, an extremely low starting price for this specimen. Really cannot fault this specimen, perhaps a soft wave if you consider that not natural. A TRULY ONE OF A KIND SPECIMEN. Diver collected on geodia lump in 42M, off Bernier Island, Carnarvon, N.W. Australia. ALL WHITE REFLECTIONS AND DULL AREAS ARE FROM THE CAMERA LIGHTING. |
