| Note | Gorgeous specimen with lovely varices and subtle hints of apricot in the body whorl that transitions into notable white hued varice terminals. The shell exhibits sculptured wings showing exceptional terminal fluting on the varix edges. The shell has an intact spire, perfect anterior siphonal canal and aperture lip. The foliatum does exhibit a worn protoconch and some wear and minor abrasion on the older varices. Collected by Scuba diver at 15-20 meters on rocks between kelp forests offshore from the Channel Islands, California in 2008. Grade: F++/F+++. |
