| Note | Larger version of an attractive and popular common cone. The tall tabulated spire sets this specimen apart from other large members found among this particular species. The shell features moderate hued patterns in dark walnut brown, with flesh/beige toned tented banding. Taken Hookah diver in 6/2019 at 12 meters off Mati, Davao Oriental, Philippines. The large shell displays a heavy weight ratio and shows slight wear on the protoconch and spire. There is also present a notable break disruption on the spire (arrow) and a growth infold on the exterior body whorl toward the lip. Grade: F++/F+++. |
