| Note | Calloused and low profile deep water specimen displaying a diffuse blotching pattern. This is complemented by a lightly hued cantaloupe/off pink diffuse supra marginal color band radiating the lateral walls, margins and extremities. The langfordii has a deep glossy nacre, perfect calloused extremities, displays moderate rostration, weight and notable body inflation. Trawled in the East China Sea northeast of Taiwan at 120-140 meters in 10/2001. The shell is GEM were it not for a mini drill hole (0.15mm) on the posterior ramp/lateral wall interface (arrow). The specimen is fresh Dead Collected. Grade: Excellent. |
