Note | Appealing example of this rare Australian Zoila subspecies. Marvelous elongate form with moderately flanging margins and superior black/brown fused coloration. The shell exhibits moderate tuberculation of the margins and has a thick nacre, beautifully glossed appearance and a heavy weight to size ratio. Scuba diver collected on a sponge attached to a low prolfile patch reef off Point Quobba, Shark Bay, Macleod, Western Australia at 40-45 meters. The shell features one hard to find micro-chip on the anterior extremity, columellar side and a few small subnacre blisters (delaminations) on the base as seen in the image of the ventral area. Grade: F+++/GEM minus. |
