| Note | Beautiful rhomboidal form,dazzling lateral wall patterning and coloration complement this large specimen. The dorsum exudes pitch black maculae and blotches, accentuated by a large spire blotch on the posterior ramp. Strong nacre gloss with perfect extremities and distinctive lateral wall inter-patterning with an astounding lattice of geometrically positioned maculae. The large bicornis demonstrates an excellent size/weight ratio. Trawled from the Caribbean Sea by fishing boats at 60 meters on sand bottom with sponges in June 2018 off Los Monges, Venezuela. The specimen shows some minor and negligible growth striations of the anterior ramp. Grade: GEM minus. |
