| Note | Huge example of a wonderfully reticulate patterned and strongly colored southern Indian Ocean subspecies. This large specimen demonstrates a lovely primary color with intricate complex patterning, clear lateral line, moderate marginal tuberculation and prominent aperture teeth. Present are perfect extremities and dorsum. Taken off Tolagnaro, southeast Madagascar by Scuba diver at 25-30 meters in a reef crevice. The shell has some smaller subnacre scratches on the base and some minor and hard to see growth folds on the posterior ramp. Grade: F+++/GEM minus. |
