Note | Hyper-bulbous, solid, rostrate, hyper-mature specimen with a strong dark dorsal blotch. The armeniaca features superior and uncommon first-class visually stunning dark apricot/peach/caramel hued patterning. With flesh-toned base and perfect extremities, this is an high level specimen for Cypraeidae/Umbilia collectors. Glossy like fine porcelain, an ocean treasure by all measures. A spectacular armeniaca among thousands available and a solid rock heavy example of a calcium carbonate exoskeleton. The Umbilia was captured in a trawling net off the Great Australian Bight, Eucla, Western Australia on sand substrate at 125-140 meters in 2009. A fine glazed crease on the posterior ramp evident. Grade: GEM minus. |
