| Note | Superb specimen with notable melanism, heavily glossed dorsum, complemented by a deep redwood primary sub-veil color field. A beautiful funebralis, featuring all the desirable characteristics of a highly collectable Red Sea endemic. Collected on a night dive at 15 meters on a lateral outcropping of a large northern coral reef off Marsa Alam, Egypt in 2021. The specimen exhibits some micro supra-nacre blemishes on the dorsum with a super shallow and barely noticeable superficial nacre break on the posterior mid-siphonal edge, columellar side not visible in photographs. Grade: F+++/GEM minus. |
