Note | Seamless glossy nacre with a much coveted radiating transverse pattern and an excellent representative specimen of this rarer form of thersites. The shell has admirable form, large size, profound inflation, albinistic characteristics and light color hues on both extremities. The dorsum is brilliant and demonstrates superb lustre. The specimen was located and accidentally taken by Prawn Trawler at 130-150 meters.off the Great Australian Bight, Port Lincoln, Western Australia in 1995. There exists chips on the anterior and posterior siphons and on the anterior margin (arrows) along with some minor dorsal subnacre blemishes. Grade: F+/F++. |
