| Note | Notably globular and inflated, humped specimen with strong posterior marginal tubercles and marginal flaring. Interesting collage of dorsal spot patterning with excellent and flawless extremities, base and dorsum. The specimen is a glossy beauty. This subspecies is primarily located in a limited area of southern Australia and no recently taken specimens have been encountered. Taken by Scuba diver while feeding on red sponges at 14-24 meters off Penneshaw, Kangaroo Island, South Australia in 2018. Some faint growth lines on the dorsum, typical of the subspecies. Grade: GEM minus. |
