Item | # 0003192772 |
Family | Cypraeidae |
Name | Zoila jeaniana sherylae - UNIQUE , Raybaudi 1990 |
Size | 68.8 mm |
Locality | Red Bluff/Point Quobba, WA |
Note | Superior and outstanding hyper-glossy Zoila subspecies. This particular specimen is out of the ordinary and not your typical run of the mill sherylae. Terrific maculae patterning and sparkling crystal nacre with a unique long and wide dorsal longitudinal off blue/grey window that separates this specimen from the rest of the fold. This is a higher-level specimen, with superior coloration, exquisite lateral wall patterning and impressive dark color hues. The shell displays subtle/moderate marginal tuberculation and perfect brown frosted extremities. Collected by Scuba diver between Red Bluff and Point Quobba, Western Australia. The gastropod was feeding on a spiirastrella sponge at 36 meters in 2017 when captured. Evident is a dorsal subnacre micro sand grain inclusion on the anterior ramp, labral side and hard to notice without scrutiny. Grade: GEM minus. |
