| Note | A beautiful and well-sized specimen of this classic cosmopolitan species. This species is rarely found this big and with this brown color in the Caribbean and West-Atlantic, typically specimens like this come from the Indo Pacific, so this one is quite special.
The shell is in great condition, with a great lip, and no visible flaws. It has some growth lines, which are always present in this species, so overall a very nice shell.
We got this one from a local fisherman who collected it in October the 9th, on a sea grass field, while diving at 22m deep, 36 miles off the Celestun harbor. |
