Note
Collected from a geodia sponge in 52 metres of water in Geelvink’s Channel just to the east of the Southern Group of the Abrolhos Islands during November 2023. The shell has a gorgeous dark dorsum and a magic black / orange basal trim. The dorsum is in nice shape but the shell has sizeable chip in its anterior labial selvage probably complimentary from the local Bald Chin Groper. This has been re-glazed and healed by the animal making it a natural defect. This is indicated by green arrows in the photos. Not a lot now collected. Fine++.
