Note | Large, inflated and wonderfully colored/patterned Hawaiian endemic tiger. The fresh collected shell demonstrates an exceptional glossy nacre, remarkable large lateral wall spots and a distinctive brown dorsal line. The specimen displays perfect extremities and base. Rich primary colors of blue/grey, gold and violet complement the dorsum along with the moderate weight/size ratio. An attractive and large specimen welcome in any Cypraea collection. Taken by Scuba diver on night dive a 20-25 meters while moving over the top a coral reef/rock ledge off Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii in 2023. There is evident a small (0.25mm) white subnacre glossed-over fleck mid-dorsum on the dorsal line, as seen in the images (arrow), and proximal mini-wobble. Grade: GEM minus. |
