Conus leopardus is a rare encounter on bottoms deeper than 10 mm. The shells sit usually half burried in sandy-mud and are vulnerable, from where the thick shell and the very heavy periostracum. There is a variety in patterns. Pieces over 140 mm are uncommon, over 150 mm they are rare. This shell is not very big in size, but it has a superb pattern of three pronounced spiral lines, two of them resembling writing characters. Great beauty.
