| Note | ELEGANT AND THE BIGGEST OF THEM ALL.
The Lambis crocata is occasionally the most elegant of all Lambis. Especially the L. crocata pilsbryi from the Marquesas which reaches huge sizes can be breath-taking.
In the Philppines, we also get, once in a while, very elegant. This is such a piece. Warm brown tinted back, very long spines, giant size for the country.
For strombus and aesthetic collectors to fight for. Looks like a medium sized pilsbryi, but this is from Zamboanga. Very charming are the two lower spines, the lower one so long that it grows in front of the second last one. It is not impossible that this is the largest crocata ever found in the Philippines.
