Item | # 0003314119 |
Family | Turbinellidae |
Name | Coluzea disteponotis - Exquisite, super rare , Melville 1891 |
Size | 74 mm |
Locality | NW Australia |
Note | This species of coluzea is probably the rarest of the NW Australian Species, This specimen is fresh dead taken by a deep water trawler. It’s in good condition, aperture lip is good a couple of minor chips on the siphon and the tip.Protoconch is complete. A very nice delicate example from my personal collection of my favourite family. There is a small deposit of deep sea sediment attached which will clean off but I have not attempted to remove. That’s a choice of the future owner I personally prefer to leave. As visible in the picture’s that represents part of this description. This one is extremely hard to get |
