Note | Pretty little marginata with moderate rostration and esthetic spotting of the margins and base. The specimen shows an excellent nacre with notable flaring and tuberculation of the margins. The body is slightly inflated, shows a wide aperture and is a rare marginata variation that is antique-white with tan colored lateral walls toward the margin. The shell was lifted off a sponge on low rocks by a Scuba diver at 35 meters near Garden Island, Western Australia in 5/2020. The shell exhibits mild dorsal striations (growth folds) and some blemishes on the dorsum with self-repaired chips on both anterior channel tips . Grade: F++. |
