Note | Terrific example of a small Australian conch. The specimen has great morphological features exemplified by the complex surface topography of the dorsal body whorl. Dark patterning excellent aperture gloss highlight this Strombus. The shell shows a perfect apex, spire and aperture lip with an intact posterior spine. Taken at low tide at night in Shark Bay, Western Australia in 2019. The specimen has two blisters on the ventral body whorl proximal to the aperture. No growth folds are apparent on the body whorl or posterior spine. Grade: F++/F+++. |
