| Note | One very nice specimen of Tetrapygus niger, an endemic urchin of Chile and Perú. This is the test with spines from a specimen washed ashore at a beach in northern Chile. The maximum size, considering the spines is about 83 mm width, while the test measures about 52 mm. These tests are the skeletal structure of the sea urchins and in living specimens they contain their soft parts and support their spines. This is a nice sea urchin perfect for your Natural History Cabinet or Wunderkammer. |
